Advantages Compared with Peer Products

Leading Insulation Technology

High-quality XLPE cross-linked polyethylene insulation is adopted, equipped with triple-co-extrusion production line and online laser thickness measurement to ensure uniform insulation thickness and inhibit water-tree generation. Compared with ordinary cables, it delivers lower dielectric loss, with a designed outdoor service life up to 40 years.

Optimized Double-layer Shield Structure

Double copper-tape shield with lap rate ≥25%. It has passed stringent voltage-withstand and partial-discharge tests, capable of coping with large-scale power-grid load fluctuations and reducing risks of unexpected breakdown and power outage.

Flexible Material Options

Copper-core versions feature low line loss, suitable for short-distance heavy-load substations. Aluminum-core YJLV reduces self-weight by 30%, effectively cutting total transportation and laying costs for long-distance power transmission projects.

Complete Quality Traceability System

Each batch of Qiancheng 18/30kV XLPE Insulated Power Cable undergoes independent testing with test videos archived. Traceable QR-codes are provided. Customer on-site random inspection is supported to avoid quality discrepancies between sample and mass-produced goods.

Optional LSZH Halogen-free Low-smoke Version

The halogen-free low-smoke variant produces little non-toxic smoke during combustion. Complete sets of IEC test certificates in both Chinese and English are available for easy passing of fire-safety acceptance for public infrastructure projects.

Safety Performance

Electrical Safety

Strict high-voltage withstand and partial-discharge tests are performed before delivery. It operates stably in humid mines and chemical plant sites, lowering failure risks of short-circuit and insulation breakdown.

Fire-safety Performance

Custom halogen-free low-smoke version is self-extinguishing in fire and releases no corrosive toxic fumes, safeguarding personnel evacuation in fire scenarios and fitting for densely-occupied engineering projects.

Long-term Operation Safety

Aging-resistant and UV-resistant. It resists damage and aging under long-term direct-buried or outdoor laying, greatly reducing costs for periodic inspection and cable replacement.

Application Scenarios

Urban substations, large-scale industrial parks, mine and chemical bases, rail transit, underground comprehensive utility tunnels, and supporting power transmission lines for new-energy power stations.

Installation & Laying Requirements

1.The ambient laying temperature should not be lower than 0℃. Pre-heating of cables is recommended before construction at low temperatures to prevent brittle cracking damage to insulation.

2.Strictly follow specifications for minimum bending radius. Keep wiring away from sharp edges and corners to avoid sheath scratching and water ingress which may trigger insulation aging.

3.Acceptable laying methods include indoor cable-tray routing, cable tunnels, cable trenches, conduit installation and direct burial in loose soil. Armored cables can withstand mild mechanical external forces.

4.Single-core AC cables shall not be routed inside steel conduits alone, so as to avoid eddy-current heating that accelerates cable aging.

FAQ

Q1: The insulation thickness of 18/30kV XLPE Insulated Power Cable is relatively thick. How is uniform thickness maintained during production?

A: A triple-co-extrusion production line with online laser thickness measurement is used to monitor insulation dimensions during production. This helps maintain consistent XLPE insulation thickness and supports stable dielectric performance. The stated design service life for outdoor applications can reach 40 years under specified operating conditions.

Q2: What protective function does the double copper-tape shield provide under power-grid load fluctuations?

A: The copper-tape shield has a specified lap rate of ≥25%. The shielding system, together with voltage-withstand and partial-discharge testing, helps control the electrical field and supports insulation performance when the power system experiences changes in operating load.

Q3: How should copper-core and aluminum-core versions be selected for long-distance substation projects?

A: Copper-core construction is commonly considered where higher conductivity and heavy-load transmission are required over shorter distances. Aluminum-core YJLV construction can be considered for longer transmission routes where lower cable weight is an important factor. The final choice should also account for current capacity, voltage drop, installation conditions and total cable length.

Q4: How does the cable perform in humid high-voltage environments such as mines and chemical plants?

A: Relevant high-voltage withstand and partial-discharge tests are carried out according to the applicable requirements. XLPE insulation provides the electrical insulation system, while the cable construction should be selected according to moisture exposure, temperature, chemical contact and other site conditions in mines or chemical facilities.

Q5: What should be considered for long-term direct-buried and outdoor installation?

A: The cable construction provides resistance to aging and UV exposure, while armored versions offer additional mechanical protection for installation conditions where the cable may be exposed to external forces. For direct-buried or outdoor applications, the sheath type, soil conditions, sunlight exposure and mechanical protection should be reviewed before installation.

Q6: What should be considered when bending the cable during installation?

A: The specified minimum bending radius should be observed throughout installation. Sharp edges, excessive bending and forced pulling should be avoided to prevent damage to the sheath. Proper handling is particularly important for high-voltage cable systems because mechanical damage can affect the insulation system and its long-term performance.

Q7: When is the halogen-free low-smoke version preferred over a conventional sheath type?

A: The halogen-free low-smoke version is intended to limit smoke and corrosive halogen-containing emissions during combustion. It can be considered for densely occupied or enclosed infrastructure, including rail transit facilities and underground utility tunnels, where smoke and fire-performance requirements are more demanding.

Q8: What precautions are required when installing the cable at low temperatures?

A: The recommended laying ambient temperature should not be below 0℃ unless the applicable installation procedure specifies otherwise. Where low-temperature installation is required, appropriate preheating measures should be followed to reduce the risk of brittle damage to the insulation. For single-core AC cables, installation inside steel conduits should also follow the applicable requirements to avoid excessive eddy-current heating.
